Great Plains Trail Website

Welcome to the Great Plains Trail Online

It would be nice to have access to the Great Plains Trail every day, but since that’s not always possible, we’re glad that you can visit the Great Plains Trail website to get up-to-date information about what’s going on in our world. The Great Plains Trail Alliance is a voluntary organization, so we don’t have a full time staff for the website and social media network (yet). But we try to keep the public informed whenever we have major accomplishments and changes. In addition to our GPTA website, don’t forget to visit the Great Plains Trail Twitter feed, Facebook page, Instagram site and Pinterest photo gallery.

One of the best sources of information for GPTA is the Great Plains Trail Blog. Once there, you’ll find out what’s going on with Great Plains Trail Alliance Board of Directors as well as what physical upgrades have been done on the trail. You’ll also receive updated news regarding our fundraising efforts and how you can help support the Great Plains Trail. Previous blogs from the past few years have included information about the first GPT thru-hike, articles by GPT section hikers and podcasts about trail life and trail updates. Also, the GPT founder, Steve Myers, occasionally posts informative articles about the Great Plains and those who truly appreciate what an incredible treasure this undiscovered gem really is.

Of course the most important part about the GPTA website is the trail information that can be found there. This includes news about the GPT map that is being updated each year. You will also be able to find out what’s going on with the GPT Pilot Trail including information about the hiking trail as well as pilot trail biking information. Finally, the Great Plains Trail website includes a contact page in case you have any further questions that are not covered elsewhere on the site. We are glad that you have discovered the Great Plains Trail Alliance (GPTA) on the internet. Now we hope you get an opportunity to explore this amazing national treasure in real life. Welcome to our family. We’re happy to have you on board.
